Пневматический фитинг Installation & Best Practices

Советы по установке:

  • Ensure tube ends are cut squarely and are clean and free of burrs for a proper seal, especially with push-in fittings.
  • For push-in fittings, insert the tube firmly until it bottoms out to ensure a secure connection.
  • For threaded fittings, use an appropriate thread sealant (PTFE tape or liquid sealant compatible with the media and fitting material) on male NPT or BSPT threads. Avoid over-application.
  • Tighten threaded fittings to the recommended torque. Over-tightening can damage threads or the fitting body.
  • Ensure tubing is not kinked or sharply bent near the fitting, which can cause leaks or restrict flow.
  • Support tubing adequately to prevent stress on the fittings.

Best Practices for System Integrity:

  • Always use fittings that are rated for your system’s operating pressure and temperature.
  • Ensure material compatibility between the fitting, tubing, and the fluid being conveyed.
  • Periodically inspect all connections for signs of wear, corrosion, or leakage.
  • When disconnecting push-in fittings, press the release collar evenly to avoid damaging the tube or internal gripping mechanism.
  • Avoid using damaged or worn-out fittings, as they can lead to system failures and safety hazards.

Пневматический фитинг Вопросы и ответы

Choosing the correct thread type is crucial for a leak-proof connection. The main types are:

  • NPT (National Pipe Taper): Common in North America. Tapered threads create a seal by interference fit; thread sealant is usually required.
  • BSPT (British Standard Pipe Taper) / R Thread: Tapered threads, similar to NPT, also requiring sealant. Common internationally.
  • BSPP (British Standard Pipe Parallel) / G Thread: Parallel threads. Sealing is typically achieved by an O-ring, washer, or bonded seal on a shoulder or at the base of the male thread.
  • Metric Threads (M): Parallel threads, often used with O-rings or special sealing washers.

Always identify the thread type of the mating component (valve, cylinder, manifold) and select a fitting with the corresponding thread. Using mismatched threads will result in leaks or damaged components.

Push-In Fittings: Allow for quick, tool-free connection and disconnection of tubing. The tube is simply pushed into the fitting, where an internal gripping mechanism (collet) and O-ring secure and seal it. Ideal for applications requiring frequent assembly/disassembly or in tight spaces.

Compression Fittings: Typically consist of a body, a ferrule (or olive), and a nut. When the nut is tightened, it compresses the ferrule onto the tube, creating a strong, leak-tight seal. They are generally used for more permanent connections and can often handle higher pressures and more demanding conditions than push-in fittings. They require tools for assembly.

To ensure leak-free connections:

  • Select Correct Type & Size: Ensure fittings match the tube and port specifications.
  • Prepare Tube Ends: Cut tubing squarely and ensure it’s free of burrs and scratches.
  • Proper Insertion (Push-in): Insert tubing fully until it bottoms out.
  • Use Thread Sealant (Threaded): Apply appropriate sealant (PTFE tape or liquid) to male tapered threads. Avoid over-application that could contaminate the system.
  • Correct Tightening Torque (Threaded/Compression): Do not over-tighten, as this can damage threads or seals. Follow manufacturer recommendations if available.
  • Inspect Seals: Ensure O-rings or other seals are present, correctly seated, and undamaged.
  • Test Connections: After assembly, pressurize the system and check for leaks using soapy water or an ultrasonic leak detector.

Common materials include:

  • Brass (often Nickel-Plated): Good strength, corrosion resistance (especially when plated), and machinability. Cost-effective for general applications.
  • Stainless Steel (304 or 316): Excellent corrosion resistance, suitable for harsh environments, food/beverage, and medical applications. Higher cost.
  • Engineering Plastics (e.g., POM, PBT, Nylon): Lightweight, good chemical resistance to certain media, often used for push-in fittings. Lower pressure and temperature ratings than metal.
  • Carbon Steel (often Plated): High strength, but requires plating (e.g., zinc) for corrosion resistance.

The choice depends on factors like operating pressure, temperature, fluid compatibility, environmental conditions, and cost.

Push-In Fittings: Are designed for multiple connections and disconnections. However, their reusability can be limited. Each time a tube is inserted and removed, the internal gripping collet and O-ring can experience some wear. If the tube end is scratched or damaged, it can also compromise the seal. It’s good practice to inspect both the fitting and tube end before reusing. If leaks occur after reassembly, replacing the fitting or re-cutting the tube end is advisable.

Threaded & Compression Fittings: Threaded fittings can often be reused if the threads are undamaged and proper sealant is reapplied. Compression fittings are generally less reusable, especially the ferrule (olive), which deforms to create a seal and may not seal effectively a second time on a new piece of tubing or even the same tube if repositioned. It’s often recommended to replace the ferrule if a compression fitting is disassembled.
